Luxury Villa Rental Koh SamuiIt’s been 21 years ago since there had been recorded Hawksbill Turtle nesting on Koh Samui! In April 2012  beach staff in one of the resorts, discovered turtle tracks on the  beach near to the resort, within two days a nest containing eggs was found. With the help of the Fisheries Department for the Surat Thani province a total of 87 eggs were collected to incubate at Samui Aquarium. Thess turned out to be from a nest of a Green Turtle which also is an endangered species in the Gulf of Thailand and around the world.

On 9th September, eventually 108 Hawksbill turtles were relased on the beach at the resort where they were found.

At Luxury Villa Rentals Koh Samui we will be following this story to see if more Turtles are discovered and what conservation efforts are put in place.
